Sustainably Sourced Timber Products

Sustainably Sourced Timber Products

We offer unique, sustainably sourced timber from responsibly felled or reclaimed trees which are full of character and ready for your next project.

What We Do

At Treecycle, we believe every tree has value, and every product should have a purpose.

Our sustainably sourced timber products are created using wood that’s milled either on-site or at our base, from trees that have already been felled for ecological, safety, or land management reasons. That means no unnecessary cutting, no importing, and no waste, just high-quality timber with a clear, ethical origin.

We don’t buy in timber from large-scale suppliers. Instead, we work directly with local landowners, estates, and organisations to recover usable wood from trees that were coming down anyway – turning them into boards, beams, and natural-edge slabs that are ready for a wide range of uses.

Every piece is full of character, rich with local story, and sourced with full traceability. Whether you’re buying for a project, a build, or a creative piece, you’ll know exactly where your timber came from, and that it didn’t cost the earth.

Who we do it for

Our sustainably sourced timber is ideal for anyone who values quality, accountability, and sustainability in the materials they use. Our customers include:

  • Joiners and carpenters
We supply beautiful, solid wood for custom furniture, kitchens, flooring, and joinery. If you’re looking for something with character and clarity of source, we can help.
  • Garden designers and landscapers
Our timber is ideal for outdoor benches, planters, raised beds, pergolas, and more. Choose wood that weathers beautifully and stands up to British conditions.
  • Homeowners and DIYers
Whether you’re building shelves, seating, or simply want a one-off piece to create with, we can supply timber that feels as good as it looks.
  • Eco-builders and architects
Looking for cladding, beams or structural timber with real sustainability credentials? We can tell you exactly where every piece came from and how it was milled.
  • Makers, creatives, and artists
Our slabs and boards have natural grain, knots, bark edges and beautiful imperfections – ideal for one-of-a-kind pieces with a story to tell.

Each customer gets timber that matches their needs, whether rough-sawn, planed, or left with a natural live edge. We also offer cutting advice, air-drying guidance, and if needed custom sizing through our sawmilling service.

Result/Impact

The result of working with Treecycle? You get high-quality, characterful timber, and complete peace of mind about its origin and impact.

Our products are:

  • Sustainably sourced from local trees
  • Milled responsibly with minimal waste
  • Processed and handled with care
  • Free from mass-production marks or chemicals
  • Often cut from species native to the UK – like oak, ash, beech, cherry, and pine

We don’t just sell wood, we share the story behind it. Where the tree grew, why it came down, and how it was milled — these are part of what make your timber meaningful. Whether you’re crafting a kitchen table or building a community bench, your wood will have roots, both literally and figuratively.

More about the process

Our timber products go through a careful journey before they reach you:

  • Responsible sourcing
We work with estates, conservation teams, and private landowners to recover trees that are already due for removal. No trees are felled just for product.
  • Expert milling
Using our mobile sawmill, we cut logs to maximise usability and preserve grain quality. Our cuts are clean, considered, and matched to each tree’s characteristics.
  • Air drying and storage
Timber is air-dried in our yard until it’s ready for use – a natural process that uses no artificial kilns or chemicals.
  • Selection and preparation
We assess and prepare each piece for sale whether that means trimming, planing, or preserving its natural edge for visual impact.
  • Direct to you

  • When you buy from us, you’re dealing directly with the person who milled the timber. That means honest advice, real traceability, and wood you can feel proud to use.

Why it matters

Mass-produced and imported timber often comes with hidden costs – deforestation, high emissions, unethical labour, and a lack of transparency. At Treecycle, we do things differently.

Our sustainably sourced products:

  • Reduce pressure on global forests
  • Keep resources in circulation
  • Support local biodiversity and land stewardship
  • Offer a low-impact alternative to imported hardwoods
  • Give trees a second life – one that honours their original value
